Question 1: What is the meaning of the settings items, and how to input the information in the settings?

Login details

This information is set in DVR device. For the mobile settings, you should know:

1. Name: it's only to distinguish your multiple cameras; for example, you can name them as "home", "office" and so on;

2. IP Address: Please use the extern IP or DDNS instead of the local IP when you are at your work, because the local IP for your home Wi-Fi can’t be connected when you are out. You also need map out your port for mobile from your router (Attention: some IP likes 192.X.X.X is invalid, which is LAN I)

3. PORT: you can find it in your DVR settings such as “Mobile settings” or “Network configuration”, or somewhere else like these. Different DVR sellers set different rules, such as15966, 34599, and 8888. We don’t know your mobile port. You can ask your DVR seller for help.

4.Username and Password: They are the same ones which you use to view the DVR or camera on PC, the default settings for them are “admin” and “admin”, or you can ask your DVR seller for help;

Question 2: If I forget the password, how can I get it back?

Forget password: consult DVR seller

Username and password are set in DVR device. Please reset DVR settings and the default settings for them are “admin” and “admin”, or you can ask your DVR manufacture for help.

Question 3: How can I login the app?

Cannot login

The problem of login is maybe caused by inputting wrong username and password. Please check them according to the instructions to make sure that they are right. The defaults for them are ‘admin’ and ‘admin’, or you can ask your DVR seller for help.

Question 4: Could you let me know how to do IP mapping?

 IP mapping

192.168.xxx is a LAN IP, which is invalid in mobile settings. Please input an external IP; such as a static IP or DDNS. 80 is web port and you should input mobile port. If it's difficult for you to input mobile port, you can find it in your DVR settings such as “Mobile settings” or “Network configuration”, or somewhere else like these. Different DVR manufacturer set different port, such as15966, 34599, and 8888. You can ask them for help. Please check it to make sure that it's right.

Please input an external IP. Please take following steps to put port forwarding:

1. You can apply for an external static IP from wireless network operator; such as orange, sprint. You can visit router management address and input your router IP, username and password according to the router instruction;

1. Chose port forwarding and create a new account;

2. External port is mobile port; internal IP is DVR default IP;

3. Internal port is TCP port;

4. Save your settings;

5. Finally, make sure you can now view the camera using a browser from the outside (try a friend's house) such as: 172.164.20.14:100;

6. Great, now configure the App to see your camera(s) once and your cameras will come up when the app is launched.

Question 5: How do I apply for DDNS?

DDNS

For the DDNS, please follow the steps below to setup with a free DDNS to settle the problem.

1. Make sure you can view your device (DVR, IP Camera) from inside your house using a web browser. For example, “http://192.168.1.23 ”. If your camera is using DHCP then you'll have to check your router for which IP address it is using (or use the manufacturer's tool to find the camera).

2. If your camera is using DHCP, then setup your router so that it always gives the same static IP address for the camera based on its MAC address (it will be visible from the router). Alternatively, you can just set the camera to a 192.x.x.x IP that is outside the DHCP’s range.

3. Now that your camera has a static IP address visible from inside your house, you need to make it visible from outside the house. Setup your router to allow port forwarding from a high port like 10123 on its external interface to the camera's IP address and port 80. See http://portforward.com for more details. Once this step is done, you can now access your camera from outside using the external IP and port 10123. Use this tool to verify: http://canyouseeme.org

4. Most internet service providers now give out dynamic IP addresses to your router so next, you need to use a Dynamic Domain Name Server service,so people outside can locate your router (and camera). I use http://www.afraid.org but there are many others that are free also. Basically, I configure the router to report its external IP address to the afraid.org any time its IP address changes. Afraid.org associates an address like "mycam.dyndns.org" to my router's IP address.

5. Finally, make sure you can now view the camera using a browser from the outside (try a friend's house). For example, http://mycam.dyndns.org:10123

6. Great, now configure the App to see your camera(s) once and your cameras will come up when the app is launched.
